Good Night Thoughts

Every night, I try to spend some alone time with each of the kids so that we can snuggle, talk, and pray.  Daniel says that I am the reason bedtime takes forever.  I know he's right.  Still, in spite of how challenging it can be and how long it can take to make the nightly rounds, it is so worth it.  I always gain a little insight into each of their personalities.

Virginia  So, mom, I have lots of money.  Whenever I work, I earn money, and now I have lots of money. I decided that I won't do any work for you or daddy unless you pay me.  When you tell me to do something, if I do it, you will have to give me money.  If I do a lot of work, you will pay me a lot of money.  Eventually, you will run out of money.  When you run out of money, I will stop working for you.

Jude  Mom, if you had lots and lots of fire trucks in this room, you would crack the house in half.  Yeah, lots of fire trucks with blankets on them--that would crack the house.

Ella When I grow up, I am going to have children and I am going to home school them.  As soon as all of my children are potty trained, I am going to buy them a dog.  I might even get them another animal before they're all potty trained.  For example, I might get them an animal that never poops.  That would be easy to take care of.
