Where the Wind Comes Sweeping Down the Plains . . .

Nine hours in the car with mis hijos, and we finally arrived in Tulsa. My mom met me in Dallas and drove the Dallas-Tulsa leg of the trip. What a good woman! She gave me a break from driving and a little help with the kids.

I admit that I was looking forward to the trip but dreading the drive. I haven't had the most success when I've travelled alone with the kids, always some drama. This trip, however, was a success all around. The kids were angelic in the car (for all but the last thirty minutes or so), and the week with family was a blast (more or less). Marcial and Cassie were generous hosts and Maureen was a help with the kids. Mom fed me. I got to reconnect with an old friend.

Aaah, a welcome change of pace, even though we really missed Daniel.
