The Things She Says

Ella at breakfast today, unprovoked, unsolicited:

"I'm a police girl, and I arrest the ugly people.  If you're beautiful and you do something bad, I don't care.  I only arrest the ugly people."

I found this comment bizarre and disturbing, until I remembered that Ella thinks everyone is beautiful.  I asked her a couple of questions.

Cathleen:  Do you know anyone who is ugly?
Ella:  No
Cathleen:  Have you ever seen anyone who is ugly?
Ella:  No
Cathleen:  So, who are you going to arrest?
Ella:  Nobody, I guess.

As I suspected, she's just making this stuff up.  What's up with this?  Where does she get this stuff?  Where does she even hear anyone referred to as ugly?  NOK!

This reminds me of the time Eiley called someone "plump". I asked myself where did she get that? Then it was revealed one night as we were reading together on the couch that it came from a book by Sandra Boynton called Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs! It goes something like this "Dinosaurs PLUMP, dinasaurs lean. Dinasaurs red, blue, yellow, and green." Huh? the back of the book stated great little books for great little kids. Sooooooooo....she could have gotten it anywhere!
