Sisters in Love

Today Ella started Vacation Bible School at the Church of Christ near our house (their VBS is free). Virginia, Jude and I accompanied Ella to registration and stayed for a few minutes to see her off. Before we could get out the door, Virginia started to cry. I thought at first that she was scared of the grown woman in the chicken suit who was flapping up and down the aisles. Then I thought she felt left out because she was too young to attend the classes. But as we were walking out the door, she cried over and over again for Ella. I assured her that Ella would be okay and that we'd soon return to pick her up, but we couldn't return soon enough for those girls. Ella loved VBS, but as soon as she and Virginia made eye contact, they ran to each other, embraced, and held on tight. They must have been hugging for two minutes straight, in that time loosening their embrace only enough to kiss one another. What a beautiful moment to witness! I am so proud of our girls, and they are so blessed to have one another.

I love those moments...
Our kids have them too, but followed by a left hook to the throat!
