Illustrations by Ella & Virgina Davis

While Daniel and Jude were away, the girls decided to let loose their creative energy. We bought them some paint and several brushes (as well as some serious floor coverings), and let them go to town. See the progression of their mural . . .

I really enjoyed watching them paint and listening to them narrate the process, and meanwhile learned a great lesson: let go and just let them have fun. As I watched my girls dip their brushes in paint and brandish them with reckless abandon, I had to bite my tongue so that I wouldn't yell to them,"WIPE THE BRUSH OR YOU'LL SPATTER PAINT EVERYWHERE!" (Sigh) I sipped my coffee and wished that I had a cigarette.

What an awesome adventure. I can't wait to come by and see it in person. You know, I still have a room to paint. This just may be the idea...
